Indian River Field Trip & Clambake Festival Event
Make plans to spend the day on November 2, 2012 learning about clams in the Indian River Lagoon and ending with a festival celebrating local clamming.
'Big Kid Adventures' includes Fish Museum and Clambake Lagoon Festival
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Brevard County Parks and Recreation's 'Big Kid Adventures,' monthly field trips for adults, is offering a trip on Friday, Nov. 2, that includes a visit to a fish museum and a clambake festival.
The trip starts out at the Sebastian Inlet State Park Fishing Museum with a ranger teaching an educational program about clams in the Indian River Lagoon. Next stop will be the Environmental Learning Center in Wabasso, which is filled with interesting wildlife displays and environmental exhibits. The adventure will end at the Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival, which offers great food, environmental exhibitors, live music and a host of craft vendors.
Departure will be at 12:30 p.m. from Kiwanis Island Park, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, in Merritt Island. The return will be by 10 p.m. The fee is $35. Pre-registration is required. Slots are limited.
