Celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the 4th Annual Native Rhythms Festival
This free park event is being held November 9-11, 2012 and is a great chance to get out with the family in our local parks. The Native Rhythms Festival is a "family friendly" event with no alcohol allowed, but plenty of fun and music.
Make plans to come by Wickham Park in Melbourne for this great annual musical event. Be sure to also check out the other events at Pine Island in the northern Merritt Island area honoring Native American Month as well.
The following article is provided by Brevard County parks and recreation and provides a good overview of the Native Rhythms Festival along with a link to their website where additional information can be found.
4th annual Native Rhythms Festival to be held Nov. 9-11 at Wickham Park
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Native Heritage Gathering Inc. and the Indian River Flute Circle will host a Native American music, arts and crafts festival at the Wickham Park amphitheater the weekend of Nov. 9 – 11.

The festival will also be hosting a free educational workshop series that focuses on flute playing, history, beading, guitar playing, drumming and much more.
Admission to the festival is free. Musical performances are scheduled throughout each day, with headliner performances starting in the late afternoon through 10 p.m. Multiple award-winning musicians from all over the United States will be performing throughout the weekend, including Saturday and Sunday performances by two-time Grammy Award-winning Native American flutist and performer Robert Mirabal.
